Accepting Christ as YOUR personal Lord and Savior

2. All of us have done, said or thought things that are wrong. This is called , and our have separated us from God.

The Bible says “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” God is perfect and holy, and our sins separate us from God forever. The Bible says “The wages of sin is death.”

3. God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins.

Jesus is the Son of God. He lived a sinless life and then died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. “God demonstrates His own love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.”

Jesus rose from the dead and now He lives in heaven with God His Father.

He offers us the gift of eternal life - of living forever with Him in heaven if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by Me."

God reaches out in love to you and wants you to be His child. "As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe on His name." You can choose to ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and come in to your life as your Lord and Savior.

4. If you want to accept Christ, you can ask Him to be your Savior and Lord by praying a prayer like this:

This prayer of faith, also known as the sinner's prayer, must come from your heart and I hope this will help you to invite Jesus into yours.

When you pray this prayer you are confessing Jesus as Lord of your life and choosing to accept His blood sacrifice on the cross for your sins.

This prayer is here only as a guide.
I urge you to pour out your heart to Jesus in your own words.

"Heavenly Father, have mercy on me, a sinner.
I believe in you and that your word is true.
I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God and that he died on the cross so that I may now have forgiveness for my sins and eternal life.
I know that without you in my heart my life is meaningless.
I believe in my heart that You Lord God raised Him from the dead.
Please Jesus forgive me, for every sin
I have ever committed or done in my heart,
please Lord Jesus forgive me and come into my heart
as my personal Lord and Savior today, I need You
to be my Father and my friend.
I give you my life and ask you to take
full control from this moment on;
I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ."

		Get baptized as commanded by Christ.
		Tell someone else about your new faith in Christ.
		Spend time with God each day. It does not have to be a long period of time.
		Just develop the daily habit of praying to Him (talk To God As You Would talk To A Good Friend) and reading His Word.
		Ask God to increase your faith and your understanding of the Bible.
		Seek fellowship with other followers of Jesus. Develop a group of believing friends to answer your questions and support you.
		Find and join a Local Bible-Based Church where you can worship God.
